THE PROJECT
The project involved conversion of the previously vacant Grade II listed building into a hub for digital start-ups, offering small units with associated meeting rooms and breakout areas.
124 separate rooms in the mansion house were sensitively refurbished in close collaboration with the conservation officer, including the full strip out and renewal of the existing mechanical and electrical systems.
The extension provides highly sought-after additional floor space and is constructed from a steel frame, with precast floors providing a robust yet highly adaptable structure. Façade materials used on the new extension create a clear definition between old and new. Contractor Design Portions of the new build included the frame, frame infill, windows and rainscreen cladding.
Steeped in history the oldest part of the mansion house dates back to Georgian times circa 1720’s

Meeting the customers quality aspirations
We created detailed sample rooms to demonstrate the exact finishes. These were completed in advance of the works so the client could review and adjust to suit their requirements.
Safeguarding of historic elements
Through engaging with the conservation officer from the outset involving them in the projects journey we were able to align the works to achieve both the customers objectives as well as those of the conservation officers. Our strong and close relationship allowed us to have open and honest conversations and resolve challenging issues in a collaborative and beneficial way.
Preserving the 300+ year old fabric
Early involvement with the conservation officer allowed us to take appropriate steps to sensitively, but not intrusively protect where necessary whilst still facilitating the delivery against programme.
