THE PROJECT
Phased refurbishment works to partial sections to create a new discovery centre, to exhibit artefacts and be used as a learning resource area. The visitors gift shop and Tourist information centre has been remodelled, along with a new much improved reception and spacious front of house area. A new accessible external seating area in the exiting courtyard has also been redeveloped.
The project was very complex in nature with large elements of structural alterations undertaken in several areas. The project was also very bespoke with additional attention to detail required both in planning and undertaking the works. Communication and coordination with museum staff was paramount for the safe running of the project.
Working closely with the client and the design team the project was phased and executed to ensure the remaining area of the museum was open to visitors while works was carried out.
We were all very impressed by the Beard construction team’s enthusiasm for the project and the quality of the end result.
