Celebrating success with our valued supply chain

Our Swindon office held a supply chain event on 26 June 2024, welcoming just over 100 valued regional partners to the Delta Marriott Hotel to celebrate the great work of our supply chain & strengthen relationships.

The event was well received, with business updates from the Swindon team sharing:

  • Our positive culture & how we put ourselves in a winning position by working together to find a way forward
  • Our geographical spread, varied sectors & projects from £5k turnkey maintenance services to £30m state-of-the-art buildings
  • How we recognise our supply chain with regular communication, monthly recognition awards & paying promptly

We were delighted to welcome our Social Value Manager, Paula Baleson, to share how we can make value beyond impact & make a difference to people & planet, as well as external speakers:

  • Mark Tempest, Reading College Brickwork Tutor who highlighted the importance of training future construction talent & the vital connections colleges need with employers to co-deliver learning, offer work experience & apprenticeships
  • Brian Smith, EHS Solutions shared how he's been delivering behavioural safety workshops across the business to drive consistency & challenge influences that drive our decision making - this has also branched out with a number of supply chain workshops in our drive for everyone to return home safe at the end of the working day
  • Dylan Skelhorn who delivered an incredibly impactful & thought provoking talk on how his life's been affected by an accident, the vast number of people it affected & the lifelong shadow it casts - a key takeaway being that the most important piece of PPE is the human brain
A fantastic event, drawing together colleagues & our valued supply chain. Thank you to everyone who attended & embraced our ethos for honest & open communications throughout the morning to help us to be better tomorrow that we are today. Our collective efforts to maintain transparent communication will benefit all of us & our customers & importantly, continue to keep all who work on our sites safe.

Jamie Harwood, Swindon & Health & Safety Director
